About Murat's Video Work.
I have been creating videos both for work and also for personal interests. My videos took me to many different places around the world. I also attended a documentary film-making workshop, at Maine Media Workshops, to fine tune my skills and create a new body of work.
Al Jazeera English

As part of the social media campaign around the Oscar nomination of Al Jazeera-commissioned St Louis Superman short documentary, I worked with producers and editors to develop a suite of videos in variety of formats for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

UNOPS - UN Office for Project Services
UNOPS results
The organization produces yearly reports on its projects and their impact. Explaining this through an infographics video is a great way to communicate these results. I took the graphics developed for the report and used them in this video.

Working at UNOPS
UNOPS needed a good way to illustrate its uniqueness as a workplace. I interviewed colleagues from various units and locations to present a holistic view of the organization as an employer.

Gender Policies at UNOPS Workplace
This video was produced upon HR department's request to create a video to attract qualified female candidates to apply for jobs at UNOPS.
South Sudan
For this video, I worked with a colleague who traveled to South Sudan for an assignment and brought back video interviews, footage and photos. I used these materials to edit them into a ten-minute video, illustrating the spectrum of work UNOPS does in the country. As part of this video, I also added my voice over for narration.

IMBA Weekend
Overview
A Holy Month in Maine
The US state of Maine has a mostly white and Protestant population. It creates a unique environment to be a Muslim in Maine, especially when observing Ramadan. This film follows two Muslim immigrants in Maine as they observe Ramadan to create a sense of home, far away from home.
This short documentary was aired on Maine's PBS, MPBN TV channel on 16 August 2012, and shown at Jaipur International Film Festival. It will also be shown at Insight Film Festival in Manchester, UK.
Finding Linda
The assignment for this short film was to find a painting of the Monhegan Island in Maine and interview someone about it on the island. It should also juxtapose the painting with real imagery. This is a sentimental piece that anyone can relate.

Politics of a Laundromat
This piece uses footage from American director, Wiseman's documentary from Belfast, Maine. The laundromat in the video is the same one in Wiseman's film. The switch between the old and the current footage is noticeable. This video will take its viewers to places that they did not think laundromats could do.

Route Book
Al Dfter Al Rihla, or Route Journey for this travel show's translation from Arabic, is a documentary series for Turkey's TRT-Arabic channel, about sea towns around Islamic countries. I co-hosted the first three episodes of this show, while also help produce it in Lebanon.

Where the heck is Mr. Jones-Gungor?
I love to travel and document my travels in videos and share tips about visiting various places. My website, Where the heck is Mr. Jones-Gungor, is a collection of these videos. It's available at http://travelbyvideos.com/ Additionally, there is a Facebook page, a YouTube channel and a Vimeo account connected to this website.
I was also one of the 2011 Fall correspondents for Matador Network's Glimpse program and had two of my videos from Singapore and Iceland featured on the organization's website.
Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF)
DTFF hosts the international film festival in Doha, Qatar. As part of its community outreach efforts, it also does one-minute-film challenges. I joined one of these, to co-direct a film about a woman recording what happens to her during her sleep.
